Quick Start Guide
This guide walks you through setting up your account and launching your first AI agent. The guided onboarding wizard handles most of the heavy lifting for you, so you can be up and running in minutes.
Quick-Start Checklist
1. Create Your Account
- Go to your sign-up page.
- Enter your first and last name, email address, and a password (6+ characters), then continue to the business-details step.
- On the second step, tell us how you first heard about us — this one is required, and it is the only field there that is. Your business name, phone number, and address are all optional and can be filled in later from your settings.
- Submit the form to create your account — you’re taken straight into the guided onboarding wizard, no email verification step required.
2. Complete the Guided Onboarding Wizard
When you log in for the first time, the guided onboarding wizard launches automatically. This is the recommended way to get started — it walks you through everything in one smooth flow:
- Say how conversations usually start — whether your customers message you first, or you’re reaching out to them — so the wizard only shows you the setup steps that make sense for your business.
- Pick your industry and the #1 thing your AI agent should do so the platform can tailor your setup.
- Choose how bookings work, if you take appointments — no booking, an external booking link, or full AI-powered booking with your real calendar.
- Connect a messaging channel — scan a QR code for WhatsApp Web, buy a phone number for SMS, or link your Facebook and Instagram accounts. (Outside the wizard, channels live in Settings → Channels → Channels.) See WhatsApp Web, Phone Numbers, or Facebook & Instagram for details on each channel.
- Import your contacts from a CSV file or add them manually — shown only if you’re re-engaging an existing list.
- Analyze your website — paste your URL, pick the pages worth using, and the platform reads your site and builds your AI agent from it: its instructions, its FAQs, and its knowledge.
- Meet your AI agent — review the instructions written for you and adjust them to match your brand voice.
- Set up follow-ups — configure automated follow-up messages for contacts who do not reply.
- Test & adjust — chat with your new agent right inside the wizard, on the agent’s own editor tabs, and tweak its instructions or FAQs before going live.
By the end of the wizard, your agent is live: the channels you connected are wired to it as Entry Points, and it’s switched on. See Guided Onboarding for a full breakdown of every step.
3. Test Your Setup
Once the wizard is complete, send yourself a test message on your connected channel to make sure the bot replies correctly. This lets you experience the conversation from your customer’s perspective and catch anything that needs adjusting.
You can also use the built-in Try Out chat on your agent — open AI Agents in the sidebar, open your agent, and pick the Try Out step (the last one) — to test without spending a real message on your channel. It talks to the same live AI instructions and knowledge the bot uses with real contacts.
4. Review and Refine
After testing, take a few minutes to fine-tune your agent on its own steps:
- AI instructions — Review the auto-generated instructions and make any tweaks to better match your tone and goals. See AI Bot Setup.
- FAQs — Add more questions and answers beyond what the website analysis generated. Aim for at least 5-10 FAQs. The more you add, the better your bot performs. See Managing FAQs.
5. Add More Channels (Optional)
If you started with one channel during onboarding, you can add more at any time:
- Buy a phone number for WhatsApp and SMS: open Settings → Channels → Channels. See Phone Numbers.
- Connect Facebook & Instagram to handle Messenger and Instagram DMs. See Facebook & Instagram.
- Add a Chat Widget to let visitors message you from your website. See Chat Widget.
6. Go Live and Monitor Results
Your agent is already live from the onboarding wizard, answering on the channels it was given as Entry Points. Now keep an eye on how it performs:
- Incoming conversations are handled immediately. Customers can message you and the bot responds.
- Reaching out first is a separate thing: create a Broadcast with a contact list and an opening message, and point its Replies step at this same agent. On WhatsApp only, the opening message also has to be submitted to WhatsApp for approval before it can be sent; every other channel sends straight away. See Campaigns Have Moved to Broadcasts & Agents for how the two fit together.
- Check your results on the Dashboard — see how many messages were sent, delivered, read, and replied to, plus credit usage and a conversion funnel at a glance.
What to Explore Next
Once your first agent is running, try these features to get more out of the platform:
- Automated Follow-Ups — Fine-tune your follow-up sequences beyond the initial setup.
- Booking System — Let your AI agent schedule appointments automatically.
- Custom Functions — Build advanced automations (for example, look up order status or generate a quote).
- Webhooks — Send automatic notifications to your other tools when something happens in the app (for example, a new booking or a tagged contact).
- Dashboard — Track how your agents and broadcasts are performing.
- Moving from Campaigns to Broadcasts & Agents — once your first bot is proven, this explains the recommended way to build everything after it: a reusable AI Agent paired with a Broadcast.
