Connect Through Our Meta App

Run WhatsApp on your own WhatsApp Business Account, without building anything in Meta’s developer site. You use our Meta app, so there’s no App ID, no app secret and no access token to generate — and Meta bills the conversations straight to your own WhatsApp Business Account, at Meta’s own rates.

This is the middle option between the two extremes: simpler than running your own Meta app, but still your WhatsApp account and your Meta bill.

Where to find it

  1. Open Settings → Channels → Channels.
  2. Find the WhatsApp Business API card.
  3. Click Connect WhatsApp, answer whether you want to use a number you already have or get a new one from us, then choose Through our Meta app.
  4. Follow the Meta window that opens to pick the WhatsApp Business Account and number you want to use.

Once it’s connected, that number’s conversations flow into your chats like any other channel, and your AI Agents can reply on it.

What it costs

Meta bills the conversations directly to your own WhatsApp Business Account. If you bring your own number: 50 credits a month from us for the connection. If you rent your number here: nothing extra, because the number’s rent already covers the connection. What a rented number costs each month is on Phone Numbers.

  • The conversations themselves: billed by Meta, directly to the payment method on your own WhatsApp Business Account. They don’t come out of your credits here.
  • AI replies: billed in credits as usual, exactly as on every other channel.

You need a payment method on your WhatsApp Business Account

This is the one thing that catches people out, and it isn’t something we can fix from this side.

Because Meta bills the conversations, Meta needs a working payment method on that WhatsApp Business Account. Without one, Meta blocks every conversation your business starts — broadcasts, campaigns and any template message — and a broadcast here won’t launch at all, telling you to add a payment method in Meta’s WhatsApp Manager instead of failing message by message.

Replies to people who messaged you first still go out for now. From 1 October 2026 they don’t, because Meta starts charging for those too. The full picture is on WhatsApp Costs & the October 2026 Change.

Templates

Message templates work on this connection, and they live in your own WhatsApp Business Account. Create one on the Templates page and it is created on that account and reviewed by Meta, with the approved, pending or rejected result shown back to you here. Templates you already have in WhatsApp Manager appear in the list on their own, and a Sync from Meta button pulls in anything you have just changed there. Sending works as it does on every other WhatsApp connection — pick an approved template to start a conversation or reopen one outside the 24-hour window. Should I use this or my own Meta app?

Through our Meta app if you want your own WhatsApp Business Account and your own Meta bill without any developer work. It takes a couple of minutes and there’s nothing to maintain. If you bring your own number there is also a flat 50-credit monthly connection fee; if you rent your number here there is nothing extra. The Meta window your number gets attached to names the app underneath, which is a neutral “Your AI Connector” rather than any brand of ours.

Your own Meta app if your clients must never see anyone’s name but yours, or you want the connection to be entirely yours end to end. You create the app in Meta’s developer site and copy four values across — plan about 20 minutes — and you keep full control of the app, the token and the account.
